About

Sage is a third-generation drummer and composer from the Bay Area and Austin, Texas. Raised in nightclubs observing diverse musical styles from Western Swing to jazz and rock, he studied drums and Latin percussion from an early age.

He has performed with organizations including Orquesta La Moderna Tradición, Los Cenzontles, David Hidalgo, Taj Mahal, QBA, and Awesöme Orchestra Collective.

Currently, he composes for film and commercial projects as co-owner of Spiky Blimp, serves as co-percussion ambassador for Awesöme Orchestra Collective, and teaches private lessons from his Oakland home studio.

Free reading sessions about once a month featuring everything from Björk to Stravinsky, performed all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

Vardari

Exploration of shared Balkan melodies with original arrangements for a world-chamber ensemble, exploring Balkan music through multiple languages.

Circus Beat Brass

Wild mix of Rock, Jazz, Classical, and everything in-between featuring Paul Allen (French Horn), Mike Stokowski (Trumpet), Jason Holiday (Trumpet), David Hemphill (Trombone), Gary Hsueh (Tuba), and Sage Baggott (Drums).
